Google Chrome now more secure

Google is rolling out improvements for its Chrome browser on Windows to enable safer browsing. Chrome already includes tools, integrated or not, that help users browse more safely. However, the company now seems to want to go further, especially on the Windows version, which is the most widely used and therefore most vulnerable. Over the coming days, several features will be gradually deployed on Chrome. Better detection of unwanted changes: First, when Chrome detects that user settings have been altered without consent (for example, by an extension changing the default search engine), the browser will display a message offering to restore previous settings. Chrome will also alert users when a download comes with hidden software. The interface of this tool (Chrome Cleanup, now integrated) has been redesigned, making it easier to avoid unwanted installations. This improvement is due in part to a partnership between Google and ESET (the company behind the NOD32 antivirus), whose detection engine does not replace a real antivirus but simply removes software that violates Google’s conditions. Google Chrome: integrated and effective cleanup Less attentive users will better avoid traps, and the days of a compromised Chrome cluttered with toolbars and other disruptive elements may be behind us.
